Black Kids – Wizard of Ahhhs

Black Kids Wizard of Ahhhs
The Black Kids have been receiving some huge hype around the internet. From NME to Pitchfork talks about how Wizard of Ahhhs is great.

The Black Kids are offering the “Wizard of Ahhhs” by download on their myspace for free so it can’t hurt to check it out. I think it’s available on ITunes but I probably would gladly donate money to them. I don’t use ITunes…so yes it’s not for me.

I don’t particular like the band name “Black Kids” as it’s difficult to find a picture (I’d be totally shocked if they aren’t black but to be honest they do sound…white?). Well apparently they are from a picture but I still don’t like the name of the band.

Name aside, I have to agree with all the hype. First off the music being played is absolutely great. You can’t argue with it. It’s innovative and catchy. The singing is pretty good above average but with great female backing vocals that really add something special to these songs.

It’s strongly recommended to check them out. Even if you don’t like it, it can’t hurt to be curious to see what all the internet craze is about right? I see it as Vampire Weekend #2! – Not as an insult…

Anyway the one thing I do hate about MySpace is that they name their files to a retarded name and do to me being obsessive compulsive on my computer I had to rename everything.

I’ll just host all four songs cause this EP is very good that if you download one you should download them all (unless this is considered unkosher to have the full EP up here) . If I were to rate this album (I don’t believe I should rate EPs) this would get a 5 out of 5. For converting people into instant fans!
