Caribou – Andorra Review

I was a bit hesitant about checking out Caribou’s Andorra. First off I’m always a bit “meh” when it comes to electronic and I really have to force myself sometimes to listen. Also, no one has ever really recommended them to me so I just never bothered to check it out personally.
“Andorra” has been released on August 21st and it has probably been on my computer untouched for the last two months. I basically forced myself to review this album because I feel I need MORE Canadian content on this blog specifically local bands (from Toronto) that have become really popular. I’m a bad Canadian as most of the bands have been from the states or overseas.
Anyway usually when I force myself to listen things it comes with bad results. Not with “Andorra”. This album has creeped up on me with some surprisingly addictive tunes, even without lyrics this album is quite enjoyable with it’s mix of sounds and beats.
There is a good sound to it such that there isn’t really much to hate. It’s just that it’s hard to like a lot for me. I enjoy the different sounds it has but after a length of time, I get a little bit annoyed with it. There isn’t a song that stands out for me as well. I don’t believe this album is near the best but I think I overall enjoy it and it deserves a 4 out of 5 for me. Check out his MySpace if you really like his work.
Here are my two ‘favorites’ off of Andorra:
