I just youtubed one of their live performances - utterly horrendous, but i will continue to listen to their recordings cause they have such a laidback summer feel to a lot of their songs. Me and my friends could hardly class ourselves as MGMT hard core fans but we have listened to them and wouldnt say they are as bad as some on here seem to be making out, i havnt however seen them live. They were utterly fantastic and the whole John Peel tent bursting with people. They played 'the Youth' last and the entire crowd of many thousands of people left the area singing along to 'Together, together, together..' But I have never been swayed by popular opinion nor by modern day payola and although I disagree on your thoughts concerning MGMT (sorta, there's actually some things that I agree on too) I certainly have similar views concerning other bands that bloggers seem to love.
