Cori Green – Artist Profile

Honestly, it’s hard to find really good music in today’s market. You have to dig to find musical treasures. Cori Green is a gem in such an industry. The first time I met Cori Green, she walked by me with a red curly mohawk. Who dares to be so bold in today’s bland world of gray? I was intrigued so I spoke to her, finding out she was a singer. I think to myself, let’s hear if the goods are as polished as the package? In its truest form, style is accompanied by authentic substance.
When you listen to Cori Green’s music, you hear truth. She writes her own music, melodies, and is present for production. She is accompanied by a team of people who love her (back singers, band, makeup artists). Cori Green chooses to surround herself with realness and stands strong to tell you that you deserve it as well. So here’s the thing, I’m not a big R&B fan…in fact, stopped listening to it somewhere around the 2000s after Aaliyah’s last LP. I miss Aaliyah. Cori Green reminds me of Aaliyah sometimes. They both have this tenderness in their style and music that commands the respect of their audience.
Cori Green’s vocals are layered with an amazing choir style. Cori Green’s style is modern, yet old school. She has this great ability to hear and sing all the notes on her tracks, a distant memory of Mariah Carey before she became MiMi. Cori Green has already released a singles collection available on iTunes. She has a very promising future in the industry and I personally look forward to her upcoming album release (TBA).
My favourite track: I Would.
