The Long Blondes Break Up
The Long Blondes broke up after guitarist and song writer Dorian Cox decide that he was unable to keep up duties as a musician (in his myspace post, he said that he may never be able to play the guitar again…) after suffering a stroke in June of this year.
They had to cancel numerous number of shows and on Monday released their EP “Singles” and announced their unfortunate break-up.
I was a big fan of their debut release, Someone To Drive You Home but disappointed in their sophomore release release, Couples. Either way that hardly matters now.
I think the most shocking thing/crappiest thing is the unfortunate tragedy of Cox’s musical career being hindered as he was the brains behind the song writing and great guitar work. I guess it’s time to say farewell as a pretty good band has broken up and it’s a shame.
