Yo Betches, Peaches is BACK!!! BACK yo! In a big way! Sorry, I’m a little kid a Christmas today because yesterday I stumbled upon the new Peaches video: Talk to Me. As Oliver had previously mentioned, Peaches is coming out with a new album, I Feel Cream, dropping May 5th in North America. Of course, I’ll review the album when it’s out.

Quickly listening to the tracks on the Drums of Death mixtape (provided below), some of the tracks are softer than her usual stuff. I like it. I feel like Peaches is one of those ‘honest’ artists, who just expresses how she feels. Period. There’s no act. No gimmick. Just her. Wherever she’s at, is where she’s at. And if you follow her, then you’ll experience what she’s talking about and hear her out. If you’re not about moving in the direction, you can just stop and move on. As much as a lot of artist say they’re like that, they’re not. There’s an element of ‘show’ for a lot of people. A LOT of people. With Peaches, I don’t really see that. I see Peaches.

I enjoyed her track Talk To Me very much, it’s very passionate. Makes me wonder what she’s talking about. The beat is less of an electro beat than usual and her vocals is also kinder to our ears than some of her past works. Also on her MySpace is a new track More, again soft vocals and electro beat. On the DOD mixtape, there is the track Lose You (the first track after the intro on the mix), a complete departure from her usual style, an electro lounge/chill out tune. I definitely am loving what I’m hearing and this new direction from Peaches. It’s a mix of danceable beats, vulnerable vocals and meaningful words.

I look forward to hearing the complete album, I Feel Cream, May 5th.

Quick trivia on Peaches, she used to be roomies with Feist in Toronto back in the days.
