Peaches – I Feel Cream Review
In April, I briefly reviewed Peaches‘ newest tracks and I said the released singles Talk To Me and Lose You had a more passionate sound. This statement holds true for the rest of I Feel Cream. I personally have great admiration of Peaches’ work. Her music illustrates a kind of raw energy and honesty rarely found in musicians. Although I’ve never been particularly fond of entire albums, I still enjoy most of the tracks in her previous efforts.
The album starts off strong with Serpentine, armed with a good beat and a rap-whisper. Billionaire is a rap track, sounding like a definite freestyle with a welcomed rough edge but at times sounding like a Gwen Stefani track (it’s the singing of “billionaire” and “love affair”). I quite like the title track I Feel Cream, the melody combined with the electronics is very thought-provoking in the pensive way, in the Radio Dept. way (for me). Lastly, I need to mention the track Trick or Treat that sounds very Prince Let’s Go Crazy/Raspberry Beret inspired.
The album I Feel Cream offers a different take on Peaches’ continuing quest for inter-sexuality and envelope-pushing. On the track Talk To Me, she sings a rough/tough plea for communication. And yet, on different tracks like Lose You, she lowers her voice to barely audible to state her case. The contrast is, I want to say, challenging for the ears, but I’m opting to say, a strong testimony that Peaches is starting to put her cards on the table.
Apparently it’s not just me, there are others that see Madonna’s latest incarnation as a similarity to Peaches.

Peaches’ More video. You know what I love about this video: The jester costume, the balloon keyboards and the motorcycle.
