Axis of Awesome – 4 Chords
Axis of Awesome is a comedy group out of Sydney, Australia perhaps similar to Flight Of The Conchords (I’ll disclose that I haven’t bothered to watch more then one song). They had a youtube video of “4 chords” for awhile now (since January) and I’ve shared it to some of my friends. I think AWmusic needs to put in a few more posts that aren’t always reviews cause we all need comedy relief and I should’ve posted this from the start.4 chords consists of using 4 chords (or the same progression) in various pop songs, showing that all these songs are not original in style. Axis of Awesome does a wonderful job with the vocals, highlights include the section of Take On Me by A-ha.
It’s both funny and a skillful, so it’s definitely worth watching. The problem with a lot of things that are funny is that it isn’t good and this song is a song I can listen to quite a bit, perhaps better on video since I don’t know some of the songs. They’ve done it live which is quite impressive.
