Cass McCombs – You Saved My Life Music Video
Cass McCombs comes to Toronto on July 24th with the Walkmen and it may be my first concert since recovering from knee surgery (was still very hesitant about it).Cass McCombs is a singer-songwriter out of California which was released in June 1, 2009. Anyway, while doing music video reviews – I see a lot of pointless ones that don’t have a good point nor direction. Or it seems rather pointless – it figures though as I haven’t watched many music videos the past few years, too many pointless ones out there. However, this music video really captures the style of McCombs on this song while in slo-mo but in another sense it also allows you to settle in to the slowness of the song. It works hand-in-hand and that’s how a music video should work.
This video just works. In slow-motion effort, it’s like waiting for something to happen and nothing actually does. If you can see the irony in that from the start – well done. While the song and video just seems depressing it ends up with McCombs smiling and enjoying himself.
