NEW Mp3: Why? – This Blackest Purse
We don’t do this normally. I don’t like jumping on the bandwagon of writing about an mp3 I receive in my inbox on the same day. Nonetheless, there are a handful of artists that do excite me (no it’s not the Arctic Monkeys but I am reviewing the mp3 for tonight) and that include Why?. Alopecia, I still listen to today and it’s impact is still the same as I listened to it before.Why?’s Eskimo Snow was recorded at the same time as Alopecia and if This Blackest Purse is any indication – it’s in similar style but apparently more depressing. Which I find kind of scary as Alopecia – while meant to be happy and bright, actually made you feel rather depressed.
As for the song The Blackest Purse, I’m really enjoying it. I would have to check out the album first and I don’t really like reviewing some mp3s on it’s own. This one does get you into slow depressing mood it seems, Why? does it with simplicity of music and Yoni Wolf’s strong lyrics This is a worthwhile song to check out for you Why? fans or anyone curious.
