The Knife in collaboration with Mt. Sims and Planningtorock- Tomorrow, In A Year

Ok I realize that I just wrote about The Knife but I did not actually visit their site until after I published the post and was pleasantly surprised to find that they have apparently teamed up with Mt. Sims and Planningtorock to release a studio version of the opera Tomorrow, In A Year scheduled to release on March 1st. Its apparently based on Charles Darwin’s work on evolution, an interesting concept but Im not too sure Im feeling it as much as I do their other stuff.
I first started to listen to it and was annoyed with the yelping from the opera singer, it took me a couple of minutes to get into it but when Karin comes in the more signature sound of The Knife comes through and its doing it for me, it took me a minute but I’m feeling it. Maybe its just because The Knife did it, but I am excited to hear the entire extended version of this opera. Hopefully their point of view of opera will deem more successful than R Kellys “hip hopera” in the closet series. Somehow I don’t think the Knife will manage to incorporate midgets hiding in cupboards shitting them selves but hey, we cant all share the same genius as R Kelly. The Knife has managed to take my least favourite genre of music, that being opera, and make it enjoyable to listen too.
Colouring of Pigeons is the track and its 11 minutes or so of what is to come. The instrumentals are without a doubt that of The Knife, shit I am hoping that shit goes on tour because that would be quite the spectacle. Well looks like me keeping my fingers crossed via my last post has worked its magic, Im glad The Knife is out of hiatus and I look forward to hearing the rest of this opera.
