Tires- The Cool Kids featuring Boldy James Review

To this minute, people are still objecting hip-hop`s zany downfall; from raw roots, to now strictly money making lyricists. I can also attest to the fact that hip-hop nowadays is, blatantly, generic. All an artist needs to talk about now is how much money they have racked up, how much designer apparel they can afford, how much drugs they have sold/are currently selling, how many girls they are taking home, and the list could elapse for an extended period of time. Now, in no way is it not alright to talk about these subjects, but when your tracks consistently follow the same disposition, or when you do not have the flow or talent to back it up, there is a problem.
The Midwest hip-hop duo The Cool Kids, in my opinion, are just one group which could be the future of hip-hop. Their single Tires off of their Merry Christmas mix tape (I know, I`m late) is a pin point example of what I look for when I am listening to a hip-hop track; a ridiculous beat, captivating flow and catchy verses and course line.
The track has more of an urban and edgy sound than what most of The Cool Kids songs are known for, which is a departure from their regular. Their alternative take on hip-hop is what makes The Cool Kids stand out and be so unique. and I couldn’t love it more.
Their last mix tape, Gone Fishing is also a great listen as well, with even more unparalleled tracks, and a re-vamped version of their single Pennies, a newer collaboration with Ludacris.
You can definitely hear the departure from The Cool Kids earlier efforts to now. Black Mags (their first single) was a more immature track, whereas Tires is more hard edged, and each rapper on the track goes in.
Lets all just hope that The Cool Kids don`t turn into the next Lil Wayne.
