Probably my favourite electro act, holy fuck is the hardest hitting electro rock band out there. Listening to their music anywhere other than one of their concerts just doesn’t do it justice. I have been lucky enough to see Holy Fuck a hand full of times and each time just gets better and better. I first saw them like 6 years ago when they opened up for Metric and was instantly a fan.

I most recently saw them at the Steamwhistle factory, good beer good music what more could you want right? Aside from having the most annoying MC of all times, wavelengths this year was really amazing. The Diamond Rings and The Russian Futurists were just two of the bands that opened for Holy Fuck and the charm of the steam whistle factory made it one of the better shows I have been to. The Diamond Rings was the most suprising act for me for the night, a tall skinny white guy in zebra print leggings with a jean jacket, a hard hat and a full face of tranny makeup. Not something I would typically go for but I am now a pretty big fan, he puts on a crazy show and for a single man band did a good job of it. I could tell when he went on stage that like me most of the people in the crowd had not heard of him before but when he left the stage he certainly made about a 1000 new fans.

The Russian Futurists were also pretty amazing, I had heard their name thrown around a bit before but never took the time to listen to their stuff. Well the rock synth band made quite the impression on me, they put on a great show and had just about everyone dancing. I love that about music festivals, you get to check out great music live, and hearing a band live really gives you a better sense of what they are about.
