Get Busy Committee- My Little Razorblade Review

Get Busy Committee My Little Razorblade Review

Get Busy Committee are a trio from Los Angeles, California. I had been introduced to the unknown band by another AW Music writer, and I was very pleased with the outcome of their track My Little Razorblade.

My initial instinct and automatic supposition was a comparison to Girl Talk; the exaggerated overlapping voices over one another, the sort of electronic over tone and then The Knife’s, Heartbeats track. I then heard the rapper spitting over the beat, and that was when I became enticed.

Really, what kind of rapper has the prowess to rap over a heavily respected and loved electronic groups’ beat? (Albeit, the beat does have a little reggae under tone to it.) A smart one to say the least. The group also had an old school and vintage feel to their technique, something that I think a lot of people will we attracted to.

Think about how many artists have attempted to pair this sort of arrangement together (Jason Derulo,) and have failed miserably because it just sounded like a washed up pursuit to seek notability. The thing that is so great about Get Busy Committee’s track is that the soul of the original song is still intact, in my opinion, yet, the group still managed to let their vision peak, something that is pretty hard in this industry right now.
