Fiona’s Song of the Day: The Cure – Boys Don’t Cry

The Cure released this song back in 1979. The lyrics illustrate a man who has given up on regaining the love of a girl that he had already lost. The man attempts to cover up his emotions with laughter and lies. As heart-wrenching as the lyrics are, the song itself is kind of ironic with the upbeat instrumental.

   Really like the fact that you can also write about ‘older’ music (not that it gets older in any food-like sense, if it’s good in the first place). There’s a lot of great timeless music out there and I love the fact that you’re not strictly interested in *the newest* stuff only…
