While I was locked up in the library comparing the differences of comparative advantage, and factor endowments I hope you guys got out and had some fun. I first discovered Salem in the summer and was instantly a fan, the “witch house” band has a new spin on electro and hiphop. Whether you are trick or treating, at a party, or staying in this evening Salem is the perfect soundtrack for the haunted evening.
Seriously, this woman is such a gem. This past week, she released her new single “Get Some” along with the b-side track, “Paris Blue”. You can grab both tracks from here just by signing up for Lykke Li’s official newsletter. I hope you all enjoy the track!
Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, is here with one killer track off his new solo side project. This dude is one busy man, after the release of the Home, by far one of my favourite albums of the year and touring the hell out of it, he somehow has managed to find the time to record this track. To put it quite simply, this song is the best new release I have heard since the end of summer.
It’s no secret I love this band. I have written about them here, here and here and was very excited to hear they will be releasing another album, Teasing Nature, sometime in the new year (it will be released in December in their native Israel).
Berlin is the first song to be released off this album and is a free download, you provide your email and then download from here. It is worth your while to do this because, as I’ve come to expect from this band, it is an amazing tune. The style reminded me of the B-52’s or The Gossip. The production, as always, is first class. Loving this song.
I really enjoy this upbeat, lovey-dovey track from Never Shout Never’s new album, Harmony, which was released late August 2010. Never Shout Never is currently touring the United States of America with The Maine. Both bands are asking concert attendees to bring a can of non-perishable food item with a goal of donating at least 6,000 pounds of food to a local Food Bank by the end of the tour. If their goal of 6,000 pounds of food is met, Never Shout Never and The Maine will each release 3 live tracks in December as a reward for fans’ generosity!
