Playlist for Heroes Season 3 + Ghost Town Review

The Season 3 premiere is tonight! So what else to do but a playlist? Amiright? I have no idea what Season 3 will hold but hopefully it will be better then the strike shortened/disappointing Season 2. Season 1 was a great season that I watched it all in just a few days.
The Past and The Pending by The Shins (for Hiro)
I’m Your Villain by Franz Ferdinand (for Sylar/title of Season 3 is “Villains”)
TouchIt_Technologic by Daft Punk (for Micah Sanders)
Cries of The Dead by Chad VanGaalen (for the follow up of who’s dead)
Read My Mind by The Killers (for Matt Parkman)
Morning Bell/Amnesiac by Radiohead (for the wuss Peter Petrelli who can’t remember a goddamn thing)
Electric Feel by MGMT (for Elle Bishop… mmm Kristin Bell)
Muscle’n Flo by Menomena (for Monica Dawson and her muscle memory)
Play Your Part (Pt. 2) by Girl Talk (for Ando and Mohinder playing their part)
Secrets by Oh! Custer (for Claire who ‘s secret plagues her, and I can’t find many other songs for her)
Ghost Town Review:

I had the chance to see Ghost Town on opening weekend. Box office success was mild playing 8th. I think for the most part it’s because the storyline isn’t that appealing or original. With a character who develops the 6th sense (same as the movie as the Sixth Sense) he begins seeing ghosts after a near-death experience.
There isn’t much to the storyline other then a seemingly typical/predictable storyline. But all in all it is light hearted and the characters (including ghosts) do progress and show off a real quality about them.
Otherwise it’s just a mildly good movie, that isn’t bad nor great though a 87% RT score probably suggests that more people liked it then not.
My rating is: 3.25 out of 5. Just kind of average but worth your money I guess.
Playlist for NHL Stanley Cup Final Wings vs Pens
I haven’t discussed enough hockey on this music blog…I’m Canadian AND from Toronto. This year has been sucky (for us Leaf fans) but whenever you can promote hockey to an American audience why the heck not?
Here’s a random playlist that I hope seems somehow related: ( I gotta go out)
1. The Kids Don’t Stand A Chance by Vampire Weekend
2. Flyin by Regina Spektor
3. Harder Better Faster Stronger by Daft Punk
4. Ballad of A Comeback Kid by The New Pornographers
5. Inaction by We Are Scientists
6. Attack of the 60 ft Lesbian Octopus by Does It Offend You Yeah?
7. In Search of the Youth Crew by Cadence Weapon

Playlist for the Superbowl and UFC 81
This weekend marks an awesome weekend in sports, so I’m basically dropping my books and enjoying the fact that I’m a sports fan. Not that many people are talking about UFC 81 but I think it marks a pretty important as former Div I wrestling and WWE champion (who cares about this really) Brock Lesnar takes on former UFC heavyweight champ Frank Mir. I’m interested in this match because the amount of hype around this fight is large and has been promoted past two more established heavyweights Tim Sylvia (I hate him) vs Antonio Nogeuira. Who knows what we’ll get from Brock but if you’re rooting for or against him it should garner tons of interest.
I don’t talk much about sports these days but the Superbowl is always fun to watch. I’m a Patriots hater so this season has been tough to stomach. The Patriots are going after the illustrious 18-0 season, already surpassing everyone’s expectation that they would’ve had one loss this year. They do have a great team all around but my favorite teams are the Chargers, Colts and Bills so you have to understand why I hate the Pats. I really hope the Giants win but the Patriots are on a different level then the Packers (the upset didn’t surprise me).
Without any further rambling and talk they you may or may not care about here’s my playlist dedicated to this fun weekend:
1. The Underdog by Spoon
2. Perfect by The Smashing Pumpkins
3. I Am History by The Bell
4. The Shadow by White Williams (dedicated to Eli Manning who will be out of the shadow of Peyton if he can pull this off)
5. Ready For The Floor by Hot Chip (Lesnar vs Mir will likely be on the ground with a wrestler vs a BJJ guy)
6. Lucky by Radiohead (who will get lucky this weekend?)
7. The Comeback by The Shout Out Louds (can Frank Mir comeback from his motorcycle accident?)
8. Different Names For The Same Thing By Death Cab For Cutie (dedicated to Brock Lesnar’s butchering of Mir’s name, apparently he thinks it’s like Murr instead of Meer)
9. Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (all the talk is about who’s better, faster, stronger in Football and in MMA and I just want to enjoy the action and stop all the talk)
10. You Talk Too Much by Run D.M.C. (media kind of annoys me revolving around the super bowl)
11. The Kids Don’t Stand A Chance by Vampire Weekend (I’m going to be having a vampire weekend so I just wanted to include them
)
Daft Punk – Alive 2007 Review
When putting on Daft Punk‘s Alive (the 2007 version) it almost makes me feel like I missed out big time with this electronic house duo from France. Sure I liked them but I didn’t appreciate them enough like this record makes me feel. “Alive” may be just a live soundtrack but it really taps into the greatness into what you would see hear if you saw them.
The album itself is great. From mixing well known tracks to one’s I haven’t been accustomed to, Daft Punk does a great job a keeping you interested for the full 74 minutes (or 84 with the encore track) and I think this will leave both hardcore fans who follow Daft Punk well and for casual fans like me who not only gets a taste of songs I’ve been accustomed to but some tracks I haven’t been exposed to in a remix style.
There is no way I can say anything bad about this album, sure it’s only a live album but where mainly live albums leave me not giving a shit, this one is down right amazing. 4.6 out of 5.
It was hard choosing two tracks between the rest of the album but check out these ones that make me want to get me out of seat:
Face To Face/Short Circuit by Daft Punk
Touch It/Technologic by Daft Punk
