Playlist for the NBA Finals: Lakers vs Celtics
I’m an equal opportunist when it comes to all things (I’ve done playlists for MMA, hockey, and football) so I while I forgot to do a playlist for the NBA finals, it can’t hurt if I’m a tad late? Anyway Game 1 took place yesterday night with the Celtics victorious. This is a rival against the all-time greatest two NBA teams and it’s a match-up everyone seemed to be rooting for.
I am going with the Celtics as they are the underdogs (bet on them +160 to take the series) and they have quite a few guys without championships while Bryant, Phil J and Co. have a few rings under the them so fuck ‘em.
Paul Pierce’s dramatic injury and being lifted off and then coming back so soon kind of ticked me off. It’s always like Paul Pierce goes down like he’s shot only to come back feelin’ fine. His entrance while the Celtics were on offense and the crowd cheering also messed up the offense. Funny.
Also, while basketball is always related to hip-hop…this playlist will just be rock because rock and basketball can go to together.
Anyway before I ramble about random, useless things, here’s a playlist:

4. Lovely Allen by Holy Fuck (because Ray’s shot is lovely)
5. Rape Me by Nirvana (to Kobe Bryant lol, he doesn’t have a nick name… how about “the Therapist”)
6. Sing Me Spanish Techno by The New Pornographers (for Pau Gasol, Spanish Techno would be an awesome nickname)
7. Altered Beast by We Are Scientists (Initials are lame for a nickname…everyone does it…how about the Genetically Altered Beast for KG?)
8. The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot by Brand New
9. The Comeback by The Shout Out Louds (if you foresaw that the Celtics would be in the finals at the end of the season last year – I’d call you a genius)
10. Faker by Everybody Else (it’s arguable…the dramatics were cheesy, though people were saying that he was instructed not to walk…it seems a little odd nonetheless)
11. I Feel Better by Frightened Rabbit (he’ll be fine)
Facteur – Exclusive Track
Simon Henner (Facteur) ended up seeing my post featuring 3 tracks off his demo. All 8 tracks are really good and he offered Allan’s World a special 9th track to give out to the world.
I’m pretty stoked to receive something like and it makes me feek special. Either way, check out the Dr. Rythm Remix. I’m not sure if I should include the spelling mistake and I feel inclined to put in the “h” just to show everyone I can spell!
It seems to me anything Facteur does will be a success so you should check his stuff if you’re into the dance/electronica/house genres. He’s also a really nice guy and I’m stoked to being able to put up this track.
I don’t know who has done the original track. The track was done by the New Europeans. Here is another post on Facteur on Kidz by Colette… it’s in French.
Facteur – Bites The Dust (Queen) Remix
Facteur is a musician out of Marseille, France with the likes of notable musicians Daft Punk and Justice… Facteur is an electronic/club artist making some pretty sick tunes worth a mention and while I wasn’t a big fan of his remix of Queen’s Bites The Dust but all of his tracks and various remixes were excellent.
Fateur’s music is more on the electro side like Simian Mobile Disco rather then the likes of Daft Punk and Justice. I definitely enjoy electro a lot, it feels more dance-able and something I’d enjoy listening to in all kinds of situations.
There seems to be a little bit of info on Facteur and most of it seems to be in French so I tried looking for some some posts and found an interview post at Boule A Facettes. It’s in French so I’ll summarize (with the use of a translator). Facteur is Simon Henner who’s 28 and been living in Marseille, France for 8 years. Some musical influences include Stevie Wonder, The Hives, Snoop Dog and of course Daft Punk. He has a wide variety of sources and I think if you give him a try you’ll agree.
Anyway Facteur’s demo includes 8 tracks with 5 original tracks and 3 remixed including the aforementioned Queen remix. I have to say these are awesome tracks you can download them here. There is really no way I can find to support him so if you like his stuff, spread the word!
