The Field: From Here We Go Sublime Review
The Field’s From Here We Go To Sublime currently stands as the album of the year on Metacritic with a 90 score. Beating the likes of Radiohead, Arcade Fire and Les Savy Fav, however user rating suggest that this album is more of a disappointment.

Rating aside, I want to and I always try to start listening to an album without any expectations and I try to limit bias as much as possible. The genre of Electronic is probably something I listen to very rarely. I do like electronic but probably not on a large scale basis. Anyway the number one thing that the electronic genre I find important is whether it makes me want to dance or not!

The only instrumental/electronic group to accomplish such a feat was Simian Mobile Disco. From Here We Go To Sublime is a decent effort with complex sounds that seamlessly enter your brain. It didn’t make we want to dance BUT I feel like I was on drugs when I listen to the songs as it gets me paranoid as to where the sounds are coming from. I think the sound is different and IF I was on drugs listening to this album it probably would be that much better.

There just doesn’t feel like there is much to this album after you break all it down. There’s no song to really cling to without lyrics, some songs are cool sounding at first but they don’t seem to have a lasting effect on me. I don’t feel this album should be on my hard-drive but it is decent enough to listen to. I think fans of electronic music “may” like this one (I really have no idea) but those outside the genre like me may find how this album is so “fascinating” to critics. 3 out of 5 from me.

Here is my favorite song on the album:
