Juvenile- Mardi Gras
I was pretty big on New Orleans rapper Juvenile in the late 90′s, early 2000′s. He incorporated humor, grit and sex and was also one of the many to herald in the sub genre of “Dirty South” rap. His latest, Mardi Gras is interesting in that he sounds much better, but not much like himself. If anything he sounds like another MMG (Maybach Music Group,) protege with the beat and the Meek Mill-ish flow. I think it’s safe to say we won’t be hearing anything like this from him anytime soon. Rejuvenation will be out sometime this year.
